I supported an agency in introducing a new technology stack for upcoming customer projects. The work established a reusable foundation for websites based on Next.js, Payload CMS, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and Ansible.

  1. Website Platform Infrastructure

    I helped establish the technical foundation for publishing multiple company websites on a shared technology stack. The platform was built around Next.js and PostgreSQL, with Kubernetes and Ansible handling the infrastructure and deployment. The setup provides a reusable foundation for further websites and keeps their deployment consistent and reproducible.

  2. First Website on the New Platform

    I helped develop the first website using the new platform and technology stack. The project was used to establish reusable design components and a flexible content structure in Payload CMS. These components and CMS structures formed the basis for adapting the platform to further company websites. The website was developed and deployed within one month.

My experience with the new technology stack helped them to introduce it on schedule and use it for a real customer project. I could contribute from the first technical decisions through development and deployment, which kept the transition practical and focused. The first website went live after only one month and gave the agency a working foundation for the projects that followed. I supported an agency on two web projects that needed additional development capacity. The work covered a Shopify shop migration and a content-driven event platform.

  1. Gourmet Online-Shop

    I worked with the agency team on migrating an existing online shop from Magento to Shopify. The work included transferring product data and content from the existing Magento store and integrating it into the new Shopify setup. I also implemented custom frontend components using JavaScript and Web Components to support the shop's specific requirements.

    An online configurator for creating custom gift boxes directly in the Shopify store. Customers could select and combine products into their own gift box before adding it to the cart. Returning to an existing customer made it possible to build on software and relationships that were already in place. I added development capacity where it was needed and worked closely with the existing team. This allowed new work to move forward while the existing systems kept running. The collaboration also created room to modernise parts of the software without turning that work into a disruptive rewrite.

A common digital platform for a large international organisation has to balance consistency with the reality that different countries work differently. I turned that tension into a concrete technical concept and working prototype, making the proposed approach easier to assess with real software rather than architecture diagrams alone. The work also put the operational side into focus, showing how many individual sites could be treated as one manageable system without making every local team dependent on the same day-to-day workflow.

Colloq was an attempt to bring the scattered information around events into one place. I was involved from the early startup phase through several years of development, shaping the platform as the idea evolved. The project eventually ended because the business could not generate enough revenue to continue, but the work resulted in a substantial platform and provided valuable experience for the projects that followed.
